Utah is still standing for Ukraine!
Karen Horne was honored to be asked to exhibit one of her sunflower paintings in the Ukraine tribute display at the Utah State Capitol. Her painting, “Sunflowers for Ukraine” depicts cheerful flowers in raking light, a reminder of the Ukrainian people’s courage. It is one of the pieces she created this spring in solidarity. This first floor display includes a Ukrainian flag which was actually flown over the State Capitol in late Feb. 2022, after the Russians started invading that sovereign country. Included is the statement; “Utahns are united together against the horrors of an unwarranted Russian invasion and humanitarian crisis.” The painting will be on loan to the State Capitol through 2022.
