Karen and Michael’s recent pilgrimage to Paris and Giverny was incredibly inspiring.
One highlight of the trip was that Karen applied for and received permission as an artist to sketch in Monet’s Gardens at Giverny after public hours. What an opportunity to sketch and capture the garden’s delicious peacefulness. She and Michael returned at four different times of day, observing the water lilies and willows in various light conditions from morning to twilight.
Back in the studio, Karen has been developing a series of pastel pieces inspired by this unforgettable visit.
