PASTELWORLD 2024 EXHIBITION

Karen Horne was fortunate and thrilled to participate in this major exhibition in June. The PASTELWORLD show is a highlight of the International Association of Pastel Societies (IAPS) biennial convention in Albuquerque. Her vivid garden piece, Going To Pot, was created in her new home studio. It was one of about 200 artworks accepted by jurors from over 2,000 entries from fine pastelists from all over the world. Going to Pot, also caught the eye of a pastel world luminary, Jimmy Wright, who had these insights about the piece in his official walk-through of the exhibition.

“Very atmospheric…She has a real command of three-dimensional space and she has a real command of a sense of weight…

…Its a very self-confident pastel – that I found to be very beautiful, and beautifully presented”

– Jimmy Wright, President, Pastel Society of America

NOTE: “Going To Pot” has been released for sale, and has just been snapped up for a collection. Browse other available works from Karen Horne’s Garden and Park series here.
