99 VOICES IN PASTEL

August 31,2023 is the opening day of the 99 VOICES IN PASTEL show at the lovely Haggin Museum, in Stockton CA. Karen Horne is so honored to have a painting from her “Cat in Shadow” series included in this competitive international show, 99 VOICES – PASTELS USA. It is an annual show sponsored by the Pastel Society of the West Coast, one of the world’s top pastel societies. There were entries from talented pastel painters from all over the nation and globe, and just 99 were selected. The esteemed juror and pastelist, Tony Allain, selected Karen Horne’s “Tiny on Stripes” for the Contemporary Impressionist category. Karen is delighted to have her artwork included in this outstanding array and exhibit of pastel paintings!
The painting was inspired by her Siamese rescue kitty, Tiny. This past year, Tiny passed on of old age. Karen is grateful that she did numerous drawings and this painting of Tiny.
